Mike Girouard is a web enthusiast based in NYC. He is a active presenter at conferences and user groups, and leads the development of several open source side projects. When he has time, he enjoys getting outside and doing non-nerdy things. Mike can be found on Twitter at @mgirouard and even keeps an infrequently updated blog at lovemikeg.com.
Nothing like a self-written, third-person description to start off an “About Me” page right? I’ll be honest with you, I think it sounds awful… but I need something for a speaker’s bio.
So yeah. That’s me. Mike G. The one and only. I’ve been rocking the web game for ten years now and don’t see any slowing down yet. Nearly every waking thought of mine is tightly woven together with some sort of web technology; front-end or back-end, it doesn’t matter. I simply dig the web.
I’m not stingy with my knowledge either. Come see me present at one of the bajillion user groups I’m a member of or that I organize, or if I’m lucky enough at an upcoming conference. If you are looking for professional training, I do that too.
I really enjoy tinkering with things so naturally I have lots of little side projects going on. Most projects of mine are pretty geeky and code related, but some could be considered “normal” by most people’s standards (reading, writing, photography, cooking, and even gardening). I’ve been described as an “idea guy” before, which I think fits me well. If you are too, lets talk! I love a good conversation over a cup of coffee or a nice drink.
Lastly, I’m available for hire! If you need a seasoned developer to see your project through, I’m your man. Leading, developing, or managing — it doesn’t matter.
Love me yet? Then talk to me.
